"For every woman, the birth of a child is the happiest moment in her life ..." this is how Nikita's mother's letter begins, which we recently received.
"... but sometimes, this happiness is overshadowed by a serious illness of the baby.
During the birth, Nikita received a birth injury due to the fault of an obstetrician-gynecologist.
Later he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and given a disability.
The biological father left immediately, constantly treating the child was not part of his life plans. And a few years later, suddenly (a heart attack and a stroke), my parents died, who were our only help and support with our son.
Illness is a difficult test and Nikitka felt it on himself. He is now 15 years old and knows well what pain, weakness, stretch marks, plastering, medicines, operations and hospital corridors are.
Despite his naughty body, Nikita studies at school at home (he has a safe intellect), as well as at the “Contact” socialization school for teenagers with complex disorders.
He is completely dependent on me for self-care. But he was able to master the tablet and now he can print, communicate in social networks and watch his favorite videos.
Nikita is a very positive and cheerful guy and dreams of traveling. There are so many interesting countries and cities in the world! For many years now, he has been asking Santa Claus as a gift - to see the "beautiful" sea.
A couple of times in his life he was in Skadovsk, but this bay can hardly be called a sea, very shallow and completely covered in algae and stinging jellyfish.
I am raising a child alone and, unfortunately, I cannot become a “fairy” at least once and fulfill his desire, since all social payments go to medicines, the most necessary rehabilitation and a modest life.
That's how we live. We rejoice in pleasant trifles, meetings with friends, walks around our beautiful city. We thank God for every day we live, wonderful people whom he sends us from time to time to help and support!"
