Dear employees of the foundation, good afternoon!

My name is Vitaly Sergeyevich Sinyutin. I am a father of three children, whom I am currently raising on my own.

My eldest son, Ruslan, has been suffering from cancer for three years.

Our family consists of: Ruslan, 17 years old; our middle daughter, Lila, 13 years old; and our youngest daughter, Ira, 11 years old. All of the children live with me. We are located in Novosibirsk.

In the autumn of 2022, Ruslan fell from a low height and broke his shoulder. During the examination, he was given a terrible diagnosis — osteogenic sarcoma (bone sarcoma). From that moment on, our life was divided into ‘before’ and ‘after.’ Over the past three years of illness, my son has gone through an incredibly difficult journey: there have been several relapses, and he has undergone more than 10 serious operations. During treatment, both of his shoulder bones were replaced, one rib was removed, and his right elbow joint was replaced.

Unfortunately, my son is currently receiving palliative care. This means that we are focused on his quality of life and managing his symptoms, but we have not lost hope.

I spent more than three months with him last year at the Dmitry Rogachev Hospital in Moscow, where he underwent several operations. Prior to that, he had undergone numerous courses of chemotherapy at the local hospital in Novosibirsk, at the Meshalkin Clinic. In July this year, Ruslan and I returned from our fourth trip to Moscow, where he underwent two operations and was given palliative care status. At the Rogachev Centre, we were taken under the wing of the Gift of Life Foundation and its palliative care division, Quality of Life, which is where I found out about Rainbow In Cyprus foundation.

Despite all the challenges, Ruslan shows incredible strength of spirit. This year, he finished 9th grade and received his secondary education certificate, and this autumn he went to 10th grade to continue his studies. He continues to attend school in person and socialises with his peers. He leads an active creative life: he loves going to concerts and creative events and is passionate about acting.

He attended a theatre studio, film school, and an acting voice recording studio. He loves humour: he watches performances by contemporary comedians and stand-up comedians, and he is a great joker himself. He has a well-trained voice and a loud and very noticeable speech that attracts attention. His zest for life and desire for self-fulfilment inspire our whole family.

Unfortunately, due to frequent trips, my income at work has decreased. I am self-employed, so I have to rebuild my workload every time, which creates financial difficulties. I was very inspired by the existence of your fund, the opportunity to organise a holiday and vacation, the opportunity to show Ruslan the world, different beautiful places, he loves to travel.
